The American Athletic Conference has a contract with ESPN Networks for all of their football television rights. ESPN will guarantee the conference a minimum of 40 games to air on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU with a minimum of 20 games on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2. ESPN+ will also carry games.
Starting in 2020, Navy home games will be divided up between ESPN's rights agreement and a separate agreement with CBS Sports. ESPN will retain the right to one Navy home game per year plus the game vs. Notre Dame when Navy is considered the host team. CBS Sports will retain all other Navy home games and retain the ability to carry the home game vs. Air Force. Most Navy home games retained by CBS Sports will air on CBS Sports Network. For the pandemic affected 2020 season, Navy home games vs. BYU and Memphis were reserved by ESPN.
The contract with ESPN ends after the 2031-2032 athletic year while the agreement for Navy home games with CBS Sports ends after the 2027 season.
